Technically, the wines produced at Sparkling Pointe can’t be
called champagne. That designation is reserved for wines produced in the
Champagne region of France, but that’s what they been producing here for 20
years.
"All the wines are sparkling wines; they are all made in the
traditional method. We have classic Brut which is our flagship wine. We have a
Brut Rosé, a Topaz Impérial, which is always a fan favorite, and we run the
gamut of drier wines, sweeter wines, and Rosés," says Mike Falcetta, of Sparking
Pointe Vineyards and Winery.
And besides their wines, Sparking Pointe is also known for the
festive atmosphere of their tasting room, reminiscent of Rio Carnival.
"The vintners here at Sparkling Point love Brazil. Through their travels
to Brazil, they have accumulated a pretty nice collection of artwork and it's a
tremendous conversation piece," explains Falcetta.
There is a separate room for private events and a sprawling
outdoor patio. "To be outside for 10-15 minutes, even on a winter day, is
nice. I think it's one of prettiest times of the year to visit. Celebration is
synonymous with bubbles, so we hope our wines will be part of everyone's
holiday celebrations this year,” says Falcetta.
