Police are still looking for the driver of the car who hit an elderly woman on Thursday morning at the corner of East Gun Hill Road and DeKalb Avenue.Anna Rogovin, 91, was nearly killed when she tried to cross the street. Authorities say she had the right of way, but a driver of an 18-wheeler ran the red light and hit her. The woman?s legs were severed as a result of the accident.Friends at the Montefiore Senior Center in Mosholu say that she was more than likely on her way there. The former Army nurse who served during World War II has been going to the senior center every day for the past two decades. They say that despite a minor hip problem, Rogovin doesn?t walk with a cane or walker.Rogovin remains in intensive care in critical but stable condition.
