A nonprofit organization dedicated to helping those in need has reopened in Mott Haven after almost two years.
Emergency Rights has helped homeless residents, victims of fire, domestic violence, crime and natural disasters.
After raising $6,000 and coping with the loss of her mother to Alzheimer's, organizer Awilda Cordero decided to reopen the center.
Emergency Rights is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. am to 5 p.m.
All of its services are free.
