EMT hospitalized after attack while assisting patient in East New York

Reports state that two EMTs were assisting the elderly woman when another woman attacked them, resulting in one EMT being punched and the other pushed.

Police say that while aiding a patient in a Brooklyn, an EMT was punched in the face and another was pushed. 
According to authorities, EMTs responded to a call of an elderly aided woman at 1257 Loring Ave in East New York at around 8:30pm Saturday night. Upon arrival, they were met by another woman, who punched one of the EMTs and pushed another. 
The elderly woman was taken to One Brooklyn Health-Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center in critical condition.
The second woman was taken into custody by police.  
The EMT who was punched in the case was taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition. 
News12 reached out to Local 2507, the EMTs, paramedics and FDNY union, and are waiting to hear back.
