Environmental groups gathered in Bay Ridge Saturday with the goal of cleaning up the athletic fields.

At the Fort Hamilton High School, many volunteers were equipped with gloves, trash bags and supplies to aid the effort.

The initiative was organized by GayRidge – an LGBTQIA+ group in South Brooklyn – the Bay Ridge Environmental Group, Partnership for Parks and the NYC Park Department.

This is the first of many cleanups the organizations have planned throughout the fall.
