Mayor's office, NYPD respond to a quality-of-life issue in Bedford Park
The mayor's office and the NYPD responded to a quality-of-life concern that News 12 alerted them to during "Ask the Mayor."

News 12 reported several quality-of life issues at 2850 Grand Concourse in Bedford Park.
Surveillance video captured several people using drugs in the entryway on multiple occasions, a scene of people completely blocking the entryway and people with children walking past drug users.
Cameras inside the building captured a naked man walking through the halls. Residents told News 12 they fear for their safety and don't want people using drugs inside their building.
The apartment building is also home to Titi's Daycare. The owner of the day care told News 12 parents are often scared to bring their children inside because there are drug users blocking the door.
News 12 showed Mayor Eric Adams the disturbing surveillance videos on our "Ask the Mayor" show. He said his team will contact the NYPD and immediately respond.
"We're going to get the police. We're going to get the building owner to give us authorization to do what we call verticals, to walk through the location periodically," said Adams.
A few days later, the mayor's office and the NYPD provided News 12 with an update.
They visited the building and got access of its surveillance cameras. They said they are also working closely with building management and the day care to address the conditions and restore safety.
News 12 spoke with residents who said since officials stepped in, they have seen the number of drug users in the building go down, and they're starting to be optimistic for the future.
