Residents at 360 E. 137th St. in Mott Haven were left stranded when the building's elevator stopped working. Tenants told News 12 the past two days have been a nightmare considering the sweltering heat on higher floors.
NYCHA told News 12 that extensive work to get the elevator operating again was done overnight.
Tenants hope the situation doesn't happen again.
