Just days after the discipline trial of the officers who killed Kawasaki Trawick, Trawick’s family decided to take matters into their own hands by delivering a letter by hand to the mayor’s office.
Trawick’s mother read News 12 part of what the letter said, which included that the Trawick family is calling on Mayor Eric Adams to have the two officers who allegedly killed her son fired immediately.
This letter comes after the discipline trial starting four years after Trawick’s death, which has concluded. The family says they are letting go of their faith in the NYPD in making a fair decision regarding the officers involved in Trawick’s death.
“No more waiting, no more delays,” said Evelyn Trawick, mother of Kawasaki. “Its been four years too long. These officers should already be fired. We need a decision within weeks… we need answers.”
News 12 has reached out to the mayor’s office regarding the letter and if the mayor has any jurisdiction over the discipline of these officers.
