The family of Tonie Wells held a rally Tuesday afternoon to call for the removal of two NYPD officers who they say didn’t do enough to help save her life. 

Wells was killed in a domestic violence incident in 2017 in Crown Heights. Elizabeth and Katherine Rivera, the mother and aunt of Tonie Wells, are calling on the mayor and NYPD to step in and do more. 

Wells' family members say the 21-year-old made two calls to 911 shortly before she was killed, saying she believed her husband was going to kill her. 

Wells was later found strangled inside a Sterling Place apartment building. 

Her husband was later arrested and charged with murder. Despite the couple's history with domestic incidents and several orders of protection being filed against Barry, the family claims the two officers called to the home and never got out of the car. 

According to the Daily News, officers Lau and Jaber were put on dismissal probation and are now on active duty more than three years later. 

Police tell News 12 that the department is prohibited from providing any more information because of an active court order.
