The family of an East Flatbush woman who was stabbed to death on her way to work Sunday is struggling to cope with the loss in what they believe was a random attack.
Dorothy Clarke-Rozier's sisters say she had picked up an extra shift at her job at the supermarket on her day off. Police say on her way there, she was viciously stabbed in the back and pronounced dead at the hospital.
"I am heartbroken, I am weak, I don't know how we will manage without Dorothy because when I think about my beautiful sister my heart is broken," says Myrtle, Clark-Rozier's sister. "She was loved by all of us and everyone who came across her knew and loved her. I will remember just good memories of her, and she will always live in our heart."
Police arrested Anthony Wilson, 34, of Brooklyn in connection with the stabbing. Wilson is charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Family members say the uptick in violence citywide has caused too many innocent people to be killed.
Councilmember Farah Louis says the community has been rocked by terrifying acts of violence in the past month and is calling for action to combat mental illness, drug abuse, gun trafficking and homelessness.
