A three-alarm fire left one person with serious injuries Friday night in Unionport, according to fire officials.

Authorities say the flames broke out in the basement of the six-story residential building at 2004 Ellis Ave.

Firefighters were called to the scene around 8 p.m. It took 138 fire and EMS personnel to control the fire.

The Department of Buildings says there was severe fire damage on one side of the building, and they issued a partial vacate order for 16 apartment units.

The injured individual was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. Authorities say their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The Red Cross says they are providing temporary emergency lodging to 22 impacted families.
