Firefighters rescued families from their homes Monday morning after a fire broke out inside a Norwood apartment building.
The FDNY says the fire began at around 2 a.m. on the third floor of the apartment at 275 East Gun Hill Road.
After receiving a call that residents were in danger, 60 firefighters responded to the scene along with EMS.
People were seen climbing out of the apartment and on their fire escapes to get out during the blaze.
Firefighters say it took around an hour to get the flames under control. Three people had to be treated for minor injuries at the scene.
The American Red Cross is assisting the families impacted by the fire. Authorities say the cause is under investigation.
