A Bronx family lost everything after a fire tore through their home in Pelham Gardens.
Fire crews responded to the fire on Gabriel Drive around 7 a.m.
Melvin, the homeowner, tells News 12 he heard alarms go off and immediately rushed to save his wife and 6-month-old baby.
"I have no idea what happened. I'm usually up around 10. I'm just glad we made it out on time," says Melvin.
It took crews about an hour to get the fire under control. The home was left with extensive damage.
The fire is under investigation.
"We just lost everything in a matter of minutes. We lived here for 12 years, but the important thing is my family is OK. Thank God," says Melvin.
