Ida damage is surfacing around the city, including in Bushwick - where water moved cars, flooded basements and battered businesses.
Water was seen pouring down Knickerbocker Avenue between Dekalb Avenue and Hart Street. The flooding water current caused by this storm was so intense that it pushed a parked car up onto the sidewalk.
One man, Pedro, was working in the basement of a business across the street last night. Pedro's car was unable to start, and while he was working in this basement, the water got all the way up to chest level before he was able to escape.
The manager of Ersoy Fashionware is one of many business owners who suffered from the flooding. Surveillance video from his store showed the raging water going down the street. The store suffered some serious damage and cleanup continues, but he says he will be able to keep his business running once the damages are cleaned up.
