Food workers rally in Manhattan to demand increase in minimum wage

A group of food service workers rallied in Midtown Manhattan Wednesday to demand that minimum wage be increased to $15 an hour.
The rally was part of a nationwide movement of food service and restaurant workers who are standing firm as one voting bloc.
They’ve launched the “Raise the Wage Voter Fund,” which has the backing of more than 150,000 supporters across the county in an effort to increase wages for food service employees.
Rep. Jamaal Bowman helped the workers in their fight for better pay and better working conditions.
The congressman says he and his colleagues in Washington are working to raise the minimum wage to $15 across the country.
