Members of the Fordham Road Business Improvement District came together on Tuesday to talk about their wins from the past year and what they still need to work on.
Some of those recent accomplishments include several newly opened businesses, beautification projects and the launch of patrol ambassadors.
The challenges they say they faced include sanitation and safety, which was agreed as the biggest issues by both store owners and shoppers.
“We are going to partner with the NYPD for a safety survey, so we will find out the real needs of the businesses… so we can make each business a little safer,” said Wilma Alonso, president of the Fordham Road BID.
The BID is now offering a $1,000 grant to 10 businesses to help improve safety and security. If you’re an interested business, click here to apply.
