Former NYPD commissioner joins Mets as senior VP of security

The former commissioner was in her role for around 1 ½ years before resigning from the department in June.

Keechant Sewell, the former NYPD commissioner, will be going from One Police Plaza to Citi Field.  
The Mets announced on Thursday that Sewell will serve as the franchise’s senior vice president of security and guest experience.  
Sewell was the NYPD commissioner for around 1 ½ years before resigning from the department in June.  
The Mets say that the role for Sewell is a newly created position.
