A former department of corrections officer who worked on Rikers Island has been sentenced to prison for putting a weapon inside a prisoner's cell.

The Bronx County District Attorney’s Office says Dionisio Rosario planted a sharpened piece of plexiglass.

Rosario will spend 90 days in prison, according to authorities.
