Representatives of Google joined state Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie at Cornerstone Academy in Eastchester to speak with middle schoolers about the tech industry.
CS First is a Google program designed to increase student access and exposure to computer science -- which is a lucrative field.
The students saw an interactive coding presentation from Google employees and got to work with the company's own software.
Heastie says the goal is to ignite kids' passion for science, technology, engineering and math -- the STEM fields.
