One of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's most trusted advisors Melissa DeRosa resigned suddenly overnight. This comes as discussions over the fate of the governor's future are set to take place Monday in Albany.

After 10 years by his side, the governor will move forward without one of his most trusted aides by his side. Melissa DeRosa who joined the Cuomo administration in 2013, making her way into the top aide position in 2017 has resigned.

She says it was an honor to serve the people of New York the past ten years. In a statement, DeRosa said, "Personally, the past two years has been emotionally and mentally trying. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such talented and committed colleagues on behalf of our state."

Her decision to step down comes a week after the attorney general report found the governor had sexually harassed 11 women. She was named in that report as allegedly retaliating against one of the women accusing Cuomo of sexual harassment
