Gov. Hochul announces expansion of fully paid parental leave for state employees

The expansion includes those caring for a newborn, a fostered or an adopted child as well.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Tuesday the state is expanding fully paid parental leave for state employees.
According to officials, the expansion will offer 12 weeks of fully paid leave benefits to more than 150,000 New York State employees. This includes those caring for a newborn, a fostered or an adopted child.
The governor also announced pending contract agreements with the Public Employees Federation and the United University Professions for fully paid parental leave benefits.
