Gov. Kathy Hochul announced COVID-19 numbers have dipped dramatically in the state.
The governor said the state peaked back on Jan. 7, but it's now down 90%. The statewide seven-day positivity rate sits at 6.92%.
It's at 4.16% in the Bronx and 4.89% in Brooklyn.
Hospitalizations are down as well, with more than 550 over the weekend. The governor is continuing to encourage New Yorkers to get vaccinated as that has made the biggest difference as the state battles the winter surge. Currently, the entire state has over 70% of New Yorkers of all ages fully vaccinated.
As New York heads into warmer months, the hope is the positivity rate continues to drop.
