Here are some stories making headlines across the Hudson Valley.
Local officials are remembering the victims of the Monsey Hanukkah stabbing that happened two years ago. A virtual ceremony was held to commemorate the two-year anniversary of the Dec. 28 attack. A vigil honored the life of Josef Neumann - the rabbi who died of his wounds from the attack. The event was attended by Attorney General Letitia James, Sen. Chuck Schumer and Rep. Mondaire Jones among others.
A hazmat situation forced an evacuation of a Beeline Bus Garage in Valhalla on Monday. Officials believe it was caused by routine disposal of expired tear gas containers at the Westchester County Police Academy's Special Operations division. They say the cold weather may have led the gas to travel to the garage rather than fade into the atmosphere. At least 15 people were treated for irritated eyes. Officials say they're still investigating.
Students at the S. S. Seward Institute in Orange County were evacuated from the building Monday after administrators say they received a bomb threat over the phone. The evacuation occurred around 2 p.m. The students were bused to the Orange County Sports Club in Goshen while law enforcement officers searched the building. Nothing was found in the building, and police were able to clear the building an hour later.
