Highbridge tenants say Con Edison, management passing the buck on gas issue
Residents of a building in Highbridge are saying they are fed up with living without gas in their apartments and are demanding their building, or Con Edison, step up and fix the situation.
Patricia Snipe, who has lived at 1140 Woodycrest Ave. for 31 years, says the problem started a month ago.
She and her neighbors say the gas line they use for cooking was unexpectedly cut because of an issue within the building, leaving them to fend for themselves for cooking. They only received hot plates a week ago.
Tenants say they were told by their management company that the issue is out of their hands and is up to Con Edison. Tenants also say that they were told by Con Edison that it’s up to the management company to turn on the gas.
They say they hope to have the issue resolved before Thanksgiving.
News 12 reached out to Con Edison and the management company for a comment.
