A hotel in Rye Brook is facing accusations of being too noisy, leading some residents to file a lawsuit.
Residents living along Beacon Lane say they are fed up with a tent that is set up on the Hilton Westchester property.
Neighbors say the tent is just feet from their homes and is disrupting at all hours of the day.
"Because there's no walls and no buffer, you can hear every sound that comes out of that tent," says attorney and neighbor Joanna Topping.
They say the tent, which is not yet fully operational yet, lights up the night sky at all hours of the night.
A spokesperson for the hotel chain sent News 12 a statement saying in part, "The complaints you have identified are old and are not related to the tent currently under construction at the hotel. Once this tent is completed, it will be used in accordance with the strict regulations outlined in the site plan approved by the Village of Rye Brook, which includes protection guidelines related to both noise and light."
Neighbors say a similar tent was constructed last year. This year, they say the tent can serve alcohol and remain operational until at least 11 p.m. They say Hilton workers have been seen smoking inside the tent as well.
"This year, they are permitted to play music, which will also transcend property lines and further disturb neighbors," says Topping.
Topping and nine other homeowners say they are suing the village in an effort to silence their noisy neighbor.
