City officials are issuing reminders on how to avoid power outages as New Yorkers brace for the extreme heat again on Wednesday.
A heat advisory is in place until 8 p.m. Thursday.
To avoid losing power, the city's Emergency Management says New Yorkers should set thermostats no lower than 78 degrees, shut off air conditioners, lights and other appliances when not at home, and close shades or blinds to avoid letting sunlight into the room.
