Following the presidential race, constituents may be feeling stress, anxiety, worry or all of the above.
While mental health experts say it's important to feel all those emotions, it's also critical to take a step back and focus on managing that stress. Doctors say the first step to managing election emotions is to tune into your own personal needs.
That selfcare can include deep breathing, practicing mindfulness and maintaining a healthy routine.
They also recommend mapping out what they call "worry time."
After the election is over, the holidays will be right around the corner. Doctors suggest setting boundaries explaining that you want to enjoy holiday time together, even if there are differing opinions about the election outcome.
