The investigation continues into Monday's shooting inside a Kingsbridge apartment complex where police say a New York City Housing Authority employee shot his boss and then fled the scene.
Police were patrolling and standing guard at the complex Tuesday afternoon, a little more than 24 hours after they say the suspect shot his boss multiple times while he was being written up.
Police say they received the call about a shooting inside on the third floor.
They say the man who pulled the trigger was a 46-year-old employee at the Fort Independence Houses who shot his 43-year-old boss multiple times in his chest and throughout the left side of his body.
Tenants identified the victim as the superintendent of the complex. They say the alleged shooter was a maintenance worker.
The tenants’ association president told News 12 that the worker has caused problems in the past and was even reported to NYCHA, but said no action was ever taken.
NYCHA has not commented on the shooting and referred News 12 to the NYPD.
Police say the shooter drove off in a gray Chevy Tahoe with New York plates. Meanwhile, the victim is expected to recover.
