Hutchinson River Parkway officially declared a historic place in New York state

The state department of transportation will now need to manage the roadway with additional care to preserve its historic integrity.

The Hutchinson River Parkway is now officially a historic place in New York state. The Village of Pelham Manor explored its historical significance and applied to the State Historic Preservation Office.         
This means that "Hutch" will be listed on the state and National Registers of Historic Places.
According to the village, the state Department of Transportation will now need to manage the roadway with additional care to preserve its historic integrity.
