Those behind the IDNYC initiative are calling its first year a success but also say they are offering more perks and easier access to application sites for 2016.
About 123,000 people in the Bronx are already carrying the IDNYC card, but officials are trying to increase that number in the new year.
The card will become easier to acquire in the Bronx, as a pop-up application center at the Kingsbridge Public Library is set to start operating next week.
In year two of the program, the card will grant membership to 40 museums, concert halls and other cultural institutions around the city, along with discounts on anything from food to medication.
To apply for the card, you must be a New York City resident at least 14 years old and be able to prove your identity.
