13h agoImmigrant workers took to the streets Friday to demand inclusion in COVID relief measures, arguing that they've been excluded from any economic assistance from the state budget.
Demonstrators say undocumented workers who have been impacted by the coronavirus pandemic haven’t had access to unemployment benefits, stimulus checks or other economic assistance.
They marched over the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, calling on state lawmakers to pass a bill that would help workers.
This comes just weeks before the new state budget goes into effect on April 1.
Demonstrators say they hope the bill will be passed by then.
