5h agoAs New York City residents deal with the aftermath of Tropical Storm Elsa, how are MTA officials and employees dealing with cleanup at high traffic train stations, like the 149th Street station?
During their commute home on Thursday evening, commuters were in for a rude awakening when the trains became severely flooded due to heavy rain.
The 149th Street station was just one area that experienced intense flooding on Thursday.
Several other areas, including 138th Street and 3rd Avenue, as well as a few stops on the A line, were submerged in murky waters.
During the storm, four stations at the north end of the A line lost service for about two hours. The rain caused several feet of flooding.
MTA officials say employees were sent to clean those lower-lying problematic areas. They also sent additional employees throughout the subway to address additional problems.
