Investigators: Man remains in critical condition after being set on fire during argument

A man was badly burned after he was lit on fire during an apparent argument in East Flatbush, police say.

A man was badly burned after he was lit on fire during an apparent argument in East Flatbush, police say.
Surveillance footage shows part of an altercation between two men near the corner of Rutland Road and Schenectady Avenue.
Video also shows the man running across the street after being set on fire. Neighbors say he started taking off his clothes as he ran across the street.
Around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers found the 46-year-old man completely engulfed in flames.
The officers were able to get a fire extinguisher and douse the flames.
EMS workers took the man to Weill Cornell Medicine Burn Center Hospital. As of 7 a.m. Friday, the victim is in critical condition.
Neighbors say there are several halfway houses and homeless shelters that contribute to violence in the community.
Police are searching for the suspect.
