St. Patrick's Day is back, and the Irish Haven in Sunset Park was ready.
They opened their doors at 8 a.m. The Irish coffee was brewing, and the beer was flowing. But one thing not availalble was green beer.
Co-owner Matt Hogan said they haven't been able to hold a proper celebration since 2019. He says they have outdoor space for anyone concerned about COVID and that they have taken all the proper safety measures.
He said people could come for Irish soda bread made from scratch and corned beef sandwiches and then stay for that true Irish feel.
"We have a great sense of community. It's a family-run business," Hogan said.
Their doors will be open until 4 a.m. Friday. For those that can't make it today, they'll also have a band performing Friday night to continue the St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
