Jon Batiste led a concert-like rally at Barclays Center Friday night called "We are a Revival."

Batiste is best known for being the musical director of the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert.”

He says the rally was a celebration of black lives through music, a different way of connecting for a common cause. 

 

One protester says, "I saw all this type of protesting you see on the news you see marching and shouting George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, so it was a nice touch to hear music."

Batiste says this rally was a continuation of his first demonstration on June 6 in Union Square.
