A Bronx mother organized an autism acceptance event in Norwood on Sunday.
The event was hosted on Webster Avenue and kids were treated to sensory-friendly fun. Families shared their stories about obstacles they have overcome regarding their children with special needs.
The event was put together by Genesis Morillo who has two children with autism. She expanded her platform on social media, relating to other moms who also have children with special needs.
"It wasn’t always easy navigating this world as a mother with children who have autism, but this is really for them to be accepted and for families to be aware of the resources available today, said Morillo.
