‘Kimberly Akimbo’ star nominated for Tony Award for her performance

Actress Victoria Clark performs one of Broadway's most challenging roles of the past year as the title character in the musical comedy "Kimberly Akimbo."
Clark is nominated for a Tony Award for lead actress in a musical for her portrayal of a 15-year-old with an aging condition giving her the appearance of a nearly 70-year-old woman.
"Definitely the most difficult," Clark says of the demands of the part. "Just in terms of the acting range. And also, stamina range and vocal range."
Clark's prolific Broadway career includes 5 Tony nominations. She won the award for Best Lead Actress in a Musical in 2005 for her performance in "The Light In The Piazza."
But Clark says "Kimberly Akimbo” holds a special place in her career.
"It’s the most satisfying, because I didn't know how I was going to pull it off or if I was going to pull it off."
"Kimberly Akimbo" has received eight Tony Award nominations including Best Musical.
