It's an exciting day for fans of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts as the company opened its new location in Times Square.
People stood in line Tuesday morning to be among the first to get their hands on a warm doughnut and check out the special store.
Inside, the main attraction is being able to watch the doughnuts as they're made. The store features a doughnut theater, made to look like a giant doughnut box.
In addition to the original popular recipe, the store has 15 other flavors. One of them can only be found in the Times Square store. It is called the Big Apple Doughnut.
The CEO tells News 12 it took a year to create and is inspired by Coney Island and candy apples.
The store was supposed to open in May, but the opening was delayed because of the pandemic. Social distancing precautions are in place.
With so many New Yorkers always on the go, the Times Square store has a pickup window for anyone who wants to quickly pick up one of the original doughnuts and a cup of coffee and be on their way.
