As 2016 comes to an end, so does business at a Barnes and Noble in the Bronx.
The Bay Plaza store closed its doors for good Saturday.
Many Bronx residents told News 12 they were devastated by the news as it's the only Barnes and Noble location in the whole borough.
A spokesperson for the company says they closed the Bay Plaza location because the property owner decided to lease the space to another retailer who is willing to pay more in rent.
Barnes and Noble says it will remain committed to opening another branch in the Bronx in the near future.
News 12 has learned Saks Off Fifth will be replacing this store.
