Smoked Salmon because it may
be contaminated with listeria.
The FDA says listeria monocytogenes is an “organism which can cause serious and
sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and
others with weakened immune systems.”
It
says healthy people may suffer from a high fever, headache, stiffness, nausea,
abdominal pain and diarrhea.
It
could also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
The
FDA recommends disposing the product if it is in your home or returning it for
a refund. It says there have been no reported illnesses associated with the
recall, as of Sept. 2.
The
issue was found due to a routine sampling by the Washington State Department of
Agriculture.
