A retired policeman and a former MTA worker have teamed up to tackle graffiti in Castle Hill.
John Marano, who is a member of Community Board 10, and John Provetto, formerly of the MTA, call graffiti the enemy of their homes within the 45th Precinct.
The duo says that graffiti can destroy a neighborhood, so they're cleaning up the streets.
"It keeps my property values up," Provetto says. "It keeps the community looking good, gives me exercise and fresh air, and it keeps me out of my wife's hair."
Provetto's wife, Bailey, maintains a page on Facebook where residents can post pictures and the location of graffiti installments for the two men to remove.
They say that while they keep the neighborhood "about 90 percent graffiti free," more of it pops up frequently.
