Tuesday marks one year since the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown New York City.
New York City schools were ordered to close their doors and the city was adjusting to remote learning.
On March 17, an executive order went into effect limiting restaurants, bars and cafes to takeout and delivery only.
The nightlife at city clubs came to a halt. Movie theaters, small theater houses and concert venues were all closed.
At the time, there were 329 confirmed COVID-19 cases in New York City and five fatalities. As of Tuesday, there has been 782,000 confirmed cases and 30,303 deaths, according to data compiled by the New York Times.
