A man accused of slitting the threat of his ex-girlfriend who's the mother of his child last week waived his right to appear in court Monday.
News 12 is told that Darrin Rose was in the court building, ready to appear before the judge, but waived that right at the last minute. Rose's lawyer instead appeared without his client, who is charged with killing his ex-girlfriend, 22-year-old Zoila Feliz, the mother of the couple's toddler son.
Feliz's throat was slit on Halloween night in her Soundview apartment. Her son, who turned 2 years old that day, was found unharmed next to her body.
Rose also faces charges of child abandonment and endangering the welfare of child. The judge issued an order of protection for the couple's son.
Rose is due back in court Nov. 30, when he'll be formally arraigned.
