A community garden in Marble Hill is growing vegetables while teaching the community about where their food comes from.
The garden, right across from the Marble Hill houses, grows lettuce, spinach, cauliflower, eggplant and even pumpkins.
The project is a long time coming, but has now gotten tenants from NYCHA buildings actively growing plants of their choice.
Beyond providing food, the garden comes as an educational tool to show residents the effectiveness in investing time in their community.
The plants are expected to be ready by September. When that time comes, the tenants plan to host community harvest and potluck with their food.
