Fathers
were out in full force Sunday in a march that aims to change the stereotype
around Black fatherhood.
The Bronx's
very own Fat Joe joined the event to amplify the message that Black fathers are
present in their children's lives.
The march
was put together by The Dad Gang, an organization started in 2016 that celebrates Black fatherhood and gives them
a safe space to find support.
Founder
Sean Willians says he's hoping his platform will set an example for his
children.
The group
marched from Grand Army Plaza to the Brooklyn Museum. Organizers say they want
the event to spread to the rest of the city.
