Maternal health expo in Brooklyn teaches mothers about safe pregnancies

Deputy Borough President Kimberly Counsel told News 12 they will continue to provide information and resources at Brooklyn Borough Hall to help lower the maternal mortality rate.

A maternal health expo in Brooklyn helped mothers learn more about safe pregnancies on Saturday.
The expo was comprised of community organizations, city agencies and other groups who brought various workshops and activities to Brooklyn Borough Hall.
Borough President Antionio Reynoso put $45 million into three Brooklyn hospitals for maternal healthcare improvements.
Deputy Borough President Kimberly Counsel said the feedback has been positive.
"You can tell from the noise in the background people are really engaged and were really happy to be able to provide this type of space,” she said.
Counsel told News 12 they will continue to provide information and resources at Brooklyn Borough Hall to help lower the maternal mortality rate.
