Bronx's Little Italy was alive with live music and smell of delectable foods as residents visited businesses and ate outdoors to celebrate Mother's Day.
With the pandemic restrictions loosening, this Mother's Day looked different compared to the empty streets last year when businesses were forced to shut down.
The celebrations occurred a day before the outdoor capacity limit increases for the state which will allow 500 people to gather outdoors.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo said the capacity increase directly reflects the COVID-19 data.
Residents said they were happy and were energetic to celebrate outdoors with their mothers and loved ones.
The indoor social gathering limit will increase to 250 people on May 19.
