An annual wiffle ball game is being held in Mott Haven in an effort to stop violence in the borough.

East 141st Street will be closed for two days as neighbors are coming together to remind people to put their guns down.

The organizers of the event wanted to show residents in a community they say can be known for violence, that there really isn't much that makes them different.

Players wear shirts with the pictures of those who died from gun violence.
"We lost these people and their memory is still going to be here," says creator Luis Ayala. "We're still going to live on for their memory and have fun and be aware that we got to put these guns down."

The tournament is in its sixth year.
