Family and friends of Raymond Chaluisant gathered at the Ortiz Funeral Home on the Grand Concourse to pay their final respects.
His family said they’re heartbroken and still processing his death.
Mourners also wore matching t-shirts with Chaluisant's photo.
Chaluisant was just 18 years old when he was shot in the face and killed while sitting in the passenger seat of a car on the corner of East Tremont Avenue and the Throggs Neck Expressway last Thursday.
His family said they spoke to him on the phone just moments before.
Police later charged an off-duty corrections officer with his murder.
What exactly led the teen to be shot is still unclear.
Family and friends packed into the funeral home both Saturday and Sunday to say their final goodbyes.
The paramedic who tried to save his life was among the mourners. She said she has remained in contact with the family and that the loss is just unbearable for them.
Chaluisant's family said they'll do everything they can to ensure justice is served.
