New Yorkers got a chance to own a piece of the New York City Transit. The MTA held a pop-up shop in Gravesend Monday, featuring New York City Transit memorabilia and collectibles. Customers were able to purchase various items, like subway signage and seats, for up to hundreds of dollars.
Canarsie resident Jordan Ayinde purchased a Rockway Parkway subway sign for $100.
"I don’t care how much it costs, it's coming home with me," said Ayinde.
One person rode his scooter all the way from the Bronx to add to his already growing collection.
"I’m kind of like a train nerd just a little bit, not a lot," said Miles Blount. "And I just hang it up. Friends come over. It’s a good conversation starter."
